ADULTING 101 - 2

evensi.us

Most often than not, young people only think of the freedom, independence and limitless opportunities that comes with adulthood. These tend to overshadow the key  issue: RESPONSIBILITIES.
The responsibility of being financially stable, mentally sound, physically fit, socially friendly, spiritually inclined and emotionally secured/matured.
Every adult lacks in one of these departments simply because one/two things make us incapable of being perfect. Besides as the saying goes Perfection is way overrated.
Now back to pressing issues...
I'll highlight one the aspects of responsibilities I have raised in this post and feature the others in subsequent posts.

1. FINANCIALLY STABILITY

Everybody works towards this goal. Personally I understand why but I also have the opinion that focusing on one's physical, mental and emotional health must be paramount. Unfortunately without the money, majority of the things that will make us healthy cannot be obtained.

As an adult, especially a young one who doesn't know what the future holds and is scared because of the state in which our world is, financial stability before thirty (30) years is everything.

I have a post on STUDENT FINANCES (the title is just because students are generally the class of people who save the least as they feel there's nothing to save for) so please search for it on my blog and have a read. I promise that it is worth your time. It breaks down issues about savings, meeting financial goals and reaping the benefits of financial discipline. I'll have a new post on finances soon. Of course, for one to have the ability to save there is a job factor. Honestly, WHITE COLLAR JOBS are becoming unpromising for young adults. I happen to be one of them - I see it as a means to an end and not the end in itself ( I'll take about it in another post).

Everyone isn't meant to be an entrepreneur and everyone isn't meant to be an employee. Finding the one you are cut out for helps in various ways. Relax, we'll get to that (in the next post).
Live within your means, prioritize saving over spending, plan your expenditure in a timely manner, give so you can get help when you need it  and finally don't be scared to try new things that will increase your annual income as long as you are not being taken advantage of.
Also, don't look at others and copy them, it's better to do things your way... The way that suits you.. The way that is beneficial to you.. The way that you are conversant with.. Focus on you and eventually the benefits you reap will affect the people around you.

Food for thought: Is financial freedom and financial stability the same?

In subsequent posts, I’ll tackle other topical issues in this post. Again, if you have anything to say such as a suggestion or constructive criticism or experience or opinion, then comment on this post but if it is private or personal contact me on Instagram @cee_jay_lynn or @_therealist21_ and I will get back to you.
