MASSA-RICE DISH

Ingredients
3 cups of white long grain rice
¼ teaspoon curry powder
¼ teaspoon turmeric powder
2 onions (chopped)
 2 fresh tomatoes (chopped)
10 green chili peppers (chopped)
Maggi cube & Salt to taste
1/3 pack elbow pasta (150g)
¼ cup sunflower oil
½ ginger (ground)
350g Heinz baked beans
300g Starkist tuna flakes

Instructions

1. Pour water in a pot, add turmeric powder, salt, curry powder, rice, pasta and leave to cook.
2. Once rice is cooked, set it aside.
3. Pour oil in another pan, add chopped onions.
4. After a few minutes, add ground ginger and chopped tomatoes.
5. Sprinkle maggi (seasoning cube/spice) on it but this is optional.
6. After a few minutes, add baked beans and Starkist tuna flakes then stir.
7. After a minute or two, add rice and thoroughly mix. Allow the rice to soak the flavour of the stir fry.
8. Add the chopped chili pepper and stir.
9. Take off the fire after some minutes.

NB: You can add cabbage, green pepper, carrots, scrambled eggs, fried sausages, fried bacon bits or any other vegetable or protein but keep it to a minimum so you can savour the taste of each ingredient.
If you do not like spicy food, then use less chili peppers and do not allow the rice to be on fire for long after putting it in. If you like spicy food, then add the chili peppers after putting in the chopped tomatoes and leave to fry.
Using the oil of the Starkist tuna flakes and the sauce of the Heinz baked beans allows the rice to be more flavourful but you can do without it.
If you do not like the idea of chopped chili pepper in the food, then opt for chopped green bell peppers and a preferred quantity of chili powder.
This recipe serves 3 people and takes an hour or less to cook.
